After the treatment
There is a tooth being extracted. Despite the fact that the cause of the inflammation and pain is removed, you surely can feel any pain afther the treatment.
The anesthesia wears off after 2-4 hours. Hereafter the pain can still be felt. When the anesthesia wears off you can use painkillers like Paracetamol 500mg or Ibuprofen 400mg. Do not use Aspirin, because this can make your blood thinner. It is recommended that you start using painkillers while the anesthesia is still working and you can take another one when the pain occurs. Please follow the description of the painkillers.
Side effects:
- You can feel the pain for 3 to 5 days;
- your cheek can become swollen;
- you can have a limited opening of the mouth;
- you could get difficulties at swallowing.
- you can get fever for several days;
Don’t worry while you experience these kinds of side effects. These effects will usually disappear after a few days. When the complains get worser and the fever is increasing, you should contact us.
It is recommended and very important not to smoke and drink for at least 24 hours after the treatment, otherwise you will interrupt the healing process!
